Cinnamon Molasses BiscuitsLast month Jimmy and I went to Vegas for my birthday. While we did stay on the strip, we explored and hiked so much outside the strip. Our second day there we tried this brewery that was amazing and the bartender recommended Biscuits and Bourbon for dinner. This restaurant is one of my all time favorite places to eat. We ended up going twice, because their food was so good. Especially their biscuits. So for the past month I have been working on a molasses biscuit. And I’m so happy to be able to share it with you.
Happy Baking!!

Makes about a dozen biscuits

  • 3 ¾ cups self rising White Lily Flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup unsalted frozen butter
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • ⅓ cup molasses

  1. In a small bowl whisk together buttermilk and molasses, set aside
  2. In a large mixing bowl whisk flour, salt and cinnamon
  3. Grate butter into flour mixture and mix
  4. Make a center well in the mixture and pour milk mixture into and mix together. I use my hands to make sure it’s all mix, be careful not to over mix
  5. Refrigerate dough for 30 minutes
  6. Preheat oven to 425
  7. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
  8. Using a large cookie scoop, scoop dough onto cookie sheets spacing about 2” apart
  9. Bake for 14-16 minutes or until done

Weekly Motivation

8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
